Duane and Keisha chose Book Cadillac Hotel in Detroit, MI for their wedding ceremony and reception. Westin Book Cadillac was recently restored to its original splendor, also featuring over 60 residences on the upper floors. Cost of renovation? $200 million. Nevertheless the place is spectacular and I was so excited to be working there when Keisha and Duane hired me to photograph their wedding. Prior to the big day we’ve worked on couple photo shoots together and had a chance to get to known each other a little closer. Keisha has the most beautiful smile and Duane is a joker making her laugh all the time (perfect match if you ask me) and I knew it was going to be a fun event to photograph

Last Saturday we photographed Travis and Stephanie’s fabulous wedding at Historic Trinity Lutheran Church which offers incredible lighting and beautiful architecture.

Stephenie and Travis chose The Atheneum Hotel for the reception. I never photographed there before and was very excited to finally have the opportunity. That place is a photographer’s dream. With countless amazing locations  I could spend whole day just walking around and getting cool shots, but there is never enough time on a wedding day Time shortage is my biggest enemy, and wedding photographers have always to work super fast to use it to the fullest advantage.

I also wanted to give a shout out to great DJ Joe Nagraba from Ultimate Entertainment. Joe is also a singer and plays guitar. If you’re looking for entertainer for your event give him a try.

This was my first wedding this season. I always have mixed feelings when starting the season. On one hand it’s so exciting to finally start shooting after a long Winter break, on the other I feel like I’m a little “rusty” and there is some anxiety in the back of my hand if I can deliver. True, I stay busy in the Winter/Spring time shooting lifestyle baby portraits so no need to dust my cameras , but weddings are different – pace is more dynamic. Nevertheless it was fantastic and great fun!

Brittany and Dave are very modern, easy going couple and they leave in a super rad loft in downtown Detroit which I love – high ceilings and huge windows is every photographer’s dream. Brittany told me they wanted some pictures in the back alleys that have that Detroit urban flair and I thought it was a fantastic idea! The whole wedding party made a short stop at Dave and Brittany’s favorite bar – of course another great opportunity for pictures!

Then we headed to the reception at the Henry Ford Lovett Hall and it was wild. Here are some shots…

BTW, for the photographers that e-mail me questions regaring post production – all images are straight from Lightroom, except adding a logo, EXIF data,  and a border around the images – no picture has been hurt in PS

I wanted to share with you Keith and Nicki’s amazing wedding. The couple couldn’t choose a better location to get married. It perfectly fits their personalities. I’m talking about Seldom Blues in downtown Detroit, with spectacular view of the Detroit River and Windsor skyline. This place is a wedding photographer’s dream with great lighting and countless cool spots that can be incorporated into shots.
I’m not big on writing and I rather let photography tell a story so I created a short slideshow with highlights of the day. It’s not a small file so give it a few minutes to download once you hit the ‘Play’ button – I promise it’s worth the wait.

Hey party people, long time no see…

It’s been a while since we photographed Sosi and Aram’s fabulous wedding. I’m probably the only photographer that provides images first and blogs the wedding later. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?…

Nevertheless, here we are and what a wedding it was! Hmm, how would I describe it in one word? Party! Yes, one huge party that started early in the day, way before the reception What fun! Being surrounded on the dance floor by 400 dancing wedding guests is an experience to be remembered for sure.

Reception was held at Shenandoah Banquet, Golf and conference Center in Bloomfield Hills, MI.

I also wanted to give a shout out to Ryan from Epic Motion who was shooting video. Ryan is a great guy and his work is outstanding so check him out if you are looking for a videographer.

Finally about the pictures. Today since this post is so long overdue a little different approach with the slideshow instead. It’s a big file and may take a while to download depending on your Internet connection, but should be worth the wait. Enjoy!

When I got boxed invitation to Marco and Shannon’s wedding I realized how much time brides put into planning their big day. I’m posting couple shots but you’d have to see the box and unwrap the package to appreciate

No matter how much time you spend planning you can never do anything about the weather. I was always drawn to shoot the wedding in the rain and little rain is good – nobody minds sneaking outside for a few shots. It was pouring hard that Saturday and few people want to get soaked when dressed up however

Wedding ceremony took place in Sainte Anne de Detroit and reception followed at The Grosse Pointe War Memorial. War Memorial is a beautiful location and I was a little bummed we couldn’t shoot due to a weather.

Huge thanks to Duane Orris for helping with equipment and getting some really outstanding shots (I’m jealous of some he got with guys outside)

Lisa and Andy had a fabulous wedding at the Gem Theatre in downtown Detroit. Andy and Lisa are very laid back couple and we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere for their wedding.

We wanted to get some night shots taking advantage of the city lights, but Tigers played against Kansas City that night and there were thousands of people on the streets slowing us down a little. Nevertheless, we got some really cool shots so it was worth it.

As always I’m behind blogging so to the pictures, as I want to blog at least one more wedding tonight

Tim and Nicki have long history together, going back to middle school. Nicki had crash on Tim in 7th grade, but kept it secret. First initial of their last names is “W’  and their yearbook pictures were next to each other from 7th-12th grade. I’ve seen it and they looked so cute

They started dating 10 years ago, and officially became a couple in 2005.

They planned beautiful reception at the Pine Knob in Clarkston, MI and the ceremony took place at the Bridgewood Church.

After shooting their engagement session I was super excited about their wedding and couldn’t wait to photograph it. It’s hard to believe it’s been a month since their big day. In fact, they just got back from their honeymoon in Italy. I wanna see some pictures from the trip
