We are surrounded by digital cameras with great color fidelity, producing amazing skin tones, and yet many prefer black and white to color. There is something timeless and simple in b&w photos. Monochrome images are often helping directing the attention to what photographer wants to show, discarding the distracting colors. Not to say I don’t like color photography, in fact I love both. However often times my personal work ends up being converted to monochrome for some reason. Here is a recent picture I took of my wife. I love her beautiful brown eyes, and yet, when deciding how to print it, I decided to go B&W. There is no point in this post really, I just wanted to share a reflection I had when preparing the file for printing. Choices are good :)
